The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join our Space Mission Systems (SMS) program Ground Software Mission Management (GMM) team in Colorado Spring, CO. We are seeking a software engineering manager with DevSecOps and Software Integration & Test knowledge and experience to lead Software Engineering capability DSO and I&T execution across several Colorado Springs, CO based programs. This leader should be passionate about space domain and motivated to be part of a multi-disciplined, collaborative engineering environment that supports the design, development, and implementation of software for Boeing built government space domain ground products!
The positions responsibilities include capability oversight and leadership of ~18 direct reports focused on DSO and I&T execution and supporting program meet software development goals and milestones that build the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. Working with commercial, government, and proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements, design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

Position Responsibilities:
Oversees development, documentation and maintenance of standardized, efficient, and innovative processes, tools, methodologies, and performance metrics to streamline the software engineering DSO and I&T lifecycle
Oversees software DSO & I&T analyses to identify risk, issues and opportunities that impact the software product baseline
Reviews product and process for alignment with project plans and industry standards by tracking and evaluating internal team and supplier performance
Manage staffing needs and grow the skills/capabilities of the organization
Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and partners, provide oversight of technical approaches, products and processes
Must have the ability to solve complex problems and the ability to work multiple tasks simultaneously, and must be familiar with managing development projects and industry equivalent practices
Experience supporting New Business Campaigns and have the technical ability to work with the engineering community
Forecast, obtain, and manage personnel to meet project and organizational requirements; acquire, deploy and schedule personnel to meet organizational objectives
Determines critical skills within an organization or functional area; develops and implements staffing plans to ensure necessary skills are available within the company
Develops and motivates 6J7F & 6J7M employees
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Colorado Springs, CO.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experiences):
3+ years of experience years of experience leading projects and/or individuals in software development lifecycle tasks, with the ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members
1+ years of experience performing software integration, test, validation, and verification
Experience with DevOps (Git, Jenkins, or other CI/CD tools)
Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance post-start
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experiences):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
Experience with MILSATCOM and/or satellite domain ground mission capabilities
Experience with DevSecOps and continuous integration pipelines (Jenkins, Git)
Experience with software integration and end to end testing methodologies
Experience working with container technologies
Experience with Atlassian and GIT software products
Experience with Support program gates, such as the System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR)
Experience with verifying and performing analyses of the Technical Performance Measures (TPMs).
Experience directly managing individual employees, with the ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members
Experience with using and debugging logging (e.g., Elasticsearch, Splunk) and performance analysis (e.g., Kibana, Grafana) tools
Current Security Plus CE or higher certification
Active Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI Clearance
Travel: Up to 25% (based on program needs)

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $132,600 - $179,400
