The Boeing Space & Launch Division's Global Satellite Configuration and Control Equipment (GSCCE) program is looking for a Lead Developer in Colorado Springs, CO or El Segundo, CA.
The Boeing Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems (SI&WS) Division's GSCCE program is seeking motivated, goal-achieving, and team-oriented systems engineers to update, upgrade, and develop an updated and modernized global military satellite communications (MILSATCOM) ground system that will manage the WGS Payloads for all F1-F12 satellites — for the Boeing-built Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellites.
As a member of the GSCCE team, you will be involved in the entire product development lifecycle, from conceptualization and development to the maintenance and support of the delivered system for our customers. Position Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain responsive applications using Java, Python, React.js and related technologies.
Collaborate with Software Engineers to implement design specifications, align with requirements, and peer code reviews.
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance issues, identify root causes, recommend direction, and develop a solution to ensure optimal performance.
Develop clean, maintainable, and efficient code within the existing codebase, ensuring alignment with established architecture and coding standards.
Excellent communication skills, working with end-users to design and build solutions to their needs, a habit of self-directed learning of new technologies, and the ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
This position is expected to be fully on site at Colorado Springs, Colorado or El Segundo, California.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Active Secret clearance
5+ years of experience in Software Engineering using modern software development approaches.
5+ years of experience with software development using either Java, C++, or Python
5+ years of experience with web based development, leveraging ReactJS, Redux, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS
3+ years of experience with RESTFul APIs
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
5+ years of experience with open-source software development experience.
5+ years of experience with fine tuning Kubernetes and the underlying host OS for optimal performance.
5+ years of experience troubleshooting software and network integration during platform deployments.
3+ years of experience as a well-rounded engineer who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, such as a front-end (UI/UX), database, and backend.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices, along with experience supporting Government security requirements for software delivery involving system accreditation.
Experience working in an Agile software development environment utilizing Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) or similar tools.
Travel: 10%

Summary Pay Range: $127.500 - $185,150
