The Corporate Tax Team is looking for a Senior Manager of State Tax out of Chicago, Illinois to oversee the State and Local Income Tax function for the Corporate Tax organization.
This Senior Manager position is responsible for managing state income tax items including tax planning, audits, provision, compliance and analyzing the state impacts of evolving federal tax laws and regulations. The position is also responsible for the corporate tax impacts of employee benefits. This role will report to senior management residing in Chicago and will have frequent interaction with other teams, including the tax teams located at Boeing’s offices in St. Louis and Seattle as well as other functional leadership.
A successful candidate will have a solid corporate tax background and relevant experience in state income tax matters. The candidate must be highly motivated with a demonstrated understanding of tax law and the ability to manage multiple projects at one time. Strong analytical, research and communication skills are required.
Position Responsibilities:
Manages all tax planning, audits, provision and compliance for state income tax
Perform tax research on complex state issues and analyze state impacts of federal legislation
Support state legislative initiatives and advocacy efforts
Manage corporate tax impacts of the Company’s employee benefit programs
Team with business personnel, other functional leadership and outside consultants
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance or a related field
10+ years of experience in corporate income tax compliance and tax accounting
Experience working with multiple internal or external stakeholders (i.e. business partner, customer, Finance, suppliers) in planning and executing projects or transactions
Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Juris Doctorate
3+ years of experience leading and driving financial strategies and processes
5+ years working with multiple internal or external stakeholders (i.e. business partner, customer, Finance, suppliers) in planning and executing projects or transactions

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $154,700 - $216,200
