The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Systems Software Engineer to join the FishTools program supporting the Space Mission Systems Software Team in Chantilly, VA, Mesa, AZ, or Aurora, CO.
The FishTools program develops and maintains a Collection Planning and Mission Management system widely used within the Intelligence community. This software system has become an integral part of imaging operations by facilitating the scheduling, analysis, and mission awareness of multiple space imaging platforms.
We are looking for a skilled, motivated, and creative software systems engineer to develop innovative solutions and support existing capabilities of an agile software program for the national intelligence community.
Position Responsibilities:
Supports/plans software development tasks including detailed software design, coding, and unit/integration/functional/system testing of customer desired features/user stories, ensuring successful achievement of acceptance criteria
Develops and sustains new and existing applications; as well as troubleshoot and resolve various software issues
Customer/stakeholder presentation and reporting skills
Briefs software designs and demonstrating software release functionality to customer/stakeholders/end users
Analyzes high level customer requirements and deriving lower-level functional requirements
Software development tasks including detailed software design, coding, and testing of customer desired features/user stories
Briefs software designs and demonstrating software release functionality to users
Develops and sustains new and existing applications; as well as troubleshoot and resolve various software issues
Contributes to the creation of new distributed components and interactions that align with the future system architecture. The existing multi-tiered system is developed on a cloud infrastructure with several consumer-facing web applications
Security Clearance:
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
A final U.S. Top Secret/ SCI Security Clearance with an adjudicated Counterintelligence Polygraph Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s Degree or higher
1+ years’ experience analyzing data and/or identifying functional and systems requirements with customers
1+ years’ experience in systems engineering including system architecture development, systems integration, and/or hardware/software design and analysis
1+ years’ experience developing presentations and briefing customers
Familiarity with Agile or SAFe practices, including daily standup, User Stories, Sprints, and Release Planning
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 2+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years of directly related work experience OR 10+ years of related, relevant experience
Experience leading projects and/or individuals in software development lifecycle tasks
Agile software development lifecycle knowledge
Knowledge of project planning processes and tools (i.e., project management software) to define, design, and plan projects, achieve project deliverables, optimize the contributions of internal and external resources, and accomplish desired business results
Effective use of Atlassian Products (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Crucible, etc.)

Work Location:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Travel:
Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Summary pay range: USD $94,350 - $136,850
