Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Supplier Development and Market Enablement Manager to join our Strategy & Supplier Development and Market Enablement team, based in either Bristol, UK, Munich, Germany or Paris, France.
The Commercial Supply Chain Stability Team is seeking a First Line Manager to oversee Market Enablement and Supplier Development for Europe and the Americas. In this role, you will manage a team of Supplier Development Specialists and Market Enablement Project Managers, focusing on the growth of both new and existing suppliers, as well as the execution of our country commitments.
You will leverage data, observations, industry trends, and internal feedback to provide strategic oversight and guidance, ensuring that supplier development plans align with our category strategies. You will also integrate with cross-functional teams to ideate and implement on country commitments, many of them through supply chain. Your leadership will be crucial in developing and motivating employees, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and enhancing supply base performance.
Position Responsibilities:
- Leads a team of highly motivated project managers and schedule integrators
- Develops and manages organization systems, data, tools, and works with Enterprise organizations as applicable
- Prepares and delivers critical presentations to support supply chain leadership to enable decisions, strategies, and oversight
- Assess and synthesize large amounts of data to proactively address risks, issues, and opportunities
- Builds and develops an empowered team through coaching and mentoring, and provide developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities.
- Inspire a culture that creates an environment where diverse, high-performing, proactive and engaged team members can excel and flourish.
- Champion a culture of communication that conveys organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of workgroup, project or process goals. Employ Seek, Speak & Listen (SS&L) to actively communicate and engage with employees, peers, customers, and stakeholders, keep others informed.
- Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
- Acquires resources for projects and processes, leads process improvements.
- Maintains effectiveness and adjusts easily when experiencing changes in work task, processes, priorities, and/or requirements.
- Thinking critically to develop and navigate solutions to a broad spectrum of complexities
- Collaborate, integrate, and influence cross functionally
- Support broader BCA teams with training, coaching, guidance on navigating work movements
- Has Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Project Management methodologies and Risk Management
- Builds trust across organizations and communicates effectively to develop partnerships with key stakeholders, customers and leadership
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
- 3+ years of experience in internal or external supply chain
- 3+ years of experience with team building, developing and motivating employees
- 5+ years of experience using strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- 5+ years of experience communicating, collaborating, and building consensus with internal and external stakeholders
- 5+ years of experience years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams
- Ability to travel 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, supplier quality, manufacturing, supplier development, or related fields
- Familiarity with aerospace industry supply chains and requirements
- Demonstrated experience in supplier development initiatives, including performance improvement and capability enhancement
- Proven ability to manage, develop, and motivate a team of professionals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in assessing supplier capabilities, operations, and performance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and projects, with a focus on achieving strategic objectives
- Ability to identify value creation opportunities within the supply chain and implement integrated supply chain management strategies
