Job Title: Test Analyst – Aerospace, Defence & Manufacturing
Location: Melbourne or Brisbane
Test Analyst – Payroll & HRMS
Hybrid working conditions.
Role summary: We are seeking an experienced Test Analyst to support structured testing activities across Payroll and HRMS (e.g., Workday, CloudPay, Peoplesoft, Aurion or equivalent) and adjacent corporate HR systems. The successful candidate will partner with HR stakeholders to translate business processes into test cases, design and execute manual and automated tests, and integrate test activities into Azure DevOps (ADO) Test Plans to ensure traceability, auditability, and robust defect management in a regulated aerospace and defence environment.
About the Role:
- Collaborate with HR operations and business stakeholders to gather and analyse payroll and HR business processes and system requirements.
- Design, develop, execute and maintain manual and automated test cases and scenarios validating payroll, HRMS and related integrations.
- Implement and maintain automation scripts using Selenium or equivalent frameworks where appropriate.
- Integrate test cases, test suites and automated runs into Azure DevOps (ADO) Test Plans for structured execution, reporting and auditability.
- Log, track and manage defects in ADO (or agreed defect management tooling), ensuring clear communication with development and HR teams.
- Support regression testing cycles, release verification and continuous integration pipelines to maintain system stability across payroll/HR releases and upgrades.
- Maintain comprehensive test documentation (test plans, cases, results, defect records) to support compliance and audit requirements.
- Participate in test planning, status updates, retrospectives and cross-functional ceremonies; provide testing input to change and release decisions.
- Continuously improve testing processes, automation coverage and toolchains in partnership with Test Manager and engineers.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
- Proven experience in testing Payroll and HRMS systems in regulated or complex enterprise environments (Workday / Peoplesoft / Aurion or similar).
- Hands‑on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium) and scripting to support automation of key end‑to‑end scenarios.
- Practical experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) Test Plans / Test Management features for test case management, execution and defect tracking.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC, with experience in functional, regression, integration and system testing.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder collaboration skills with experience working alongside HR operations teams.
- Familiarity with Agile / DevOps ways of working and CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- Relevant tertiary qualification preferred (Computer Science, IT, Engineering) or equivalent experience.
