The opportunity
Boeing is building the MQ-28 Ghost Bat—a next-generation autonomous drone—and we need a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure our supply chain delivers excellence. These roles report to the Supplier Quality Manager and work closely with the MQ-28 Quality and Production Leadership. You will be expected to work under their general direction to independently determine and develop approaches to solve complex and challenging problems and deliver solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organisation objectives and Quality Management System standards and processes.
Position Responsibilities
- Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
- Develops quality metrics, equipment and process qualification plans for programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
- Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
- Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs
- Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
- Provides material review dispositions suggestions for complex non-conformances as required.
- Analyzes non-conformance trends in supply chain to evaluate effectiveness of supplier corrective actions and recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances
- Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
- Plans and conducts audits and assessments of supplier's systems, processes and products.
- Documents and reports audit and assessment results. Inspects or verifies products for compliance with requirements as required.
- Assists with assessments of supplier capability and capacity to perform current or potential future work.
- Provides supplier education and coaching on quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives.
- Addresses routine issues and concerns in supplier quality and contributes to the development of strong supplier relationships.
- Represents Supplier Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
Technical Competencies
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes and capabilities (composites, structures, harnessing, etc.) and the data required to define delivery configurations (design definition, program directives, drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams, functional tests, supplier data).
- Strong understanding of supplier organizations, business systems, risk mitigation, capacity planning and production performance.
- Expertise in configuration management, drawing/data systems, part number control and product identification.
- Experience with producibility and process improvement methodologies (SPC, HVC, Six‑Sigma) and risk assessment tools (FMEA, fault tree analysis).
- Ability to develop and use advanced analysis and benchmarking techniques to verify process capability and readiness.
- Strong systems thinking understand cross‑discipline interactions (Engineering, Operations, Logistics, Business) and how changes affect the whole program.
- IT fluency with business systems, data analysis tools and documentation platforms.

Who we're looking for
- Quality professionals with supplier management, auditing and engineering integration experience.
- Candidates with strong aerospace knowledge (AS9100 and related compliance standards) and experience in certification and production readiness activities.
- Proven problem solvers with a proactive, system-level approach to continuous improvement.
- Experience working with advanced manufacturing technologies and complex system‑level products.
- Strong leadership in RCCA methodologies and demonstrated ability to lead technical reviews and supplier improvement programs.
- Australian citizenship and ability to obtain NV1 Defence clearance.
