Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is the one of the largest Defence companies in Australia and is now recruiting for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join out Training Services team.
The role involves evaluating defence customer training requirements and reviewing and developing specific customer documentation. Additionally, the candidate will create comprehensive training documentation and engaging materials to support the design and delivery of training programs and internal training team.
We are actively recruiting a Senior Training Instructional Designer, with the following attributes:
- Knowledge of instructional design lifecycle (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation)

Responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating customer training requirements and developing tailored proposal components to effectively address those needs.
- Analysing data to identify and recommend training technologies that align with customer objectives, ensuring that the solutions provided are both relevant and impactful.
- Developing comprehensive training documentation that supports the design, development, and delivery of training programs.
- Reviewing and assessing customer requirements as outlined in Key Performance Parameters, Statements of Work, Program Objective Statements, and Specifications.
- Creating and producing engaging training materials that enhance learning experiences and support various training initiatives.
Requirements:
Essential
- Experience researching and analysing data to determine training requirements and recommend training solutions
- Experience designing complete technical training programs and curricula
- Experience developing and testing training course materials and media
- Experience evaluating training programs using Kirkpatrick's model (Level 1 and Level 2)
- In depth knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning modes, methods and media.
- Familiarity with the Systems Approach to Defence Learning (SADL)
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of tools
Qualifications
- Eight or more years' training experience in Defence (or similar) environment
- The ability to obtain a Defence Security clearance
Desirable
- Experience developing and evaluating training using mixed methods and media or blended learning approaches.
- Experience developing or preparing ADF Learning Management Packages.
- Project Management Experience
- Experience creating and editing multimedia using the Adobe Creative Suite of tools.
- Experience developing training support documentation, such as a Performance Needs Analysis Report (PNAR), Training Support Plan (TSP), Training Requirements Specification (TRS)
- TAE50122 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (Design and Development) (Or Equivalent)
