The opportunity
We are actively seeking a dedicated and proactive IT Server Room (System Integration Lab - SIL) and Facility Support Coordinator to join our team in Brisbane.
The primary focus of this role is to manage our complex multi-use server room and laboratory, ensuring its safe, efficient, and compliant operation. This position is critical in overseeing System Integration Lab operations, coordinating Boeing occupants, and supporting contractors involved in Defence network activities.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will oversee daily activities within the server room, ensuring smooth operations, timely maintenance, and effective resource allocation in collaboration with Information, Digital Technology and Security (IDT&S). You will provide System Integration Lab-focused technical support to users, maintain compliance, and monitor support systems for notifications and reliability while building strong relationships with stakeholders to optimize workflows. Ensuring compliance with Boeing and Defence policies, including the Defence Cabling Standards and the Information Security Manual, will be essential.
You will lead the change process for System Integration Lab shared facilities, monitor compliance with quality, safety, and security standards, and coordinate all Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) and electrical safety risk assessments. Additionally, you will manage access to System Integration Lab facilities, maintain a key safe register, and provide reports on resource utilization.
As part of your secondary responsibilities, you will assist in coordinating contractors for facilities and site services, relay updates on floor plans and employee movements, support regular inspections to ensure compliance, facilitate site inductions, and communicate with building management regarding emergency training and evacuation requirements.
Experience/Qualifications
- Previous experience in a server room environment (preferred)
- 5+ years of direct experience in facilities, IT, Defence, or site services operational roles.
- 2+ years in a large matrix organization.
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and translating operational requirements into actionable deliverables.
- Experience managing site operations in accordance with local laws and company policies.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Project management experience/qualifications are a plus.
