The opportunity
Reporting to BDA's Director of Contracts, we are seeking a Manager to lead our E7 and MQ-28 contracting teams. We're looking for a “can-do” self-starter, who has a passion for delivering outcomes for their customers and are able to support program leadership teams focused on execution and growth.
The role holds a breadth of technical and leadership responsibilities and will have responsibility for daily management and tasking of program contract specialists, to achieve program outcomes.
Key Responsibilities for this position include:
- Apply experience and leadership to provide direction to, and management oversight of, E7 and MQ-28 program contract specialist teams.
- Provide strategic advice and support to program teams on contractual and commercial issues.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior customer stakeholders on contract and commercial matters.
- Contribute to BDA's strategic direction as part of the extended BDA Contracts and Finance Leadership team.
- Work effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders, to achieve BDA's strategic goals.
- Exercise appropriate signature authority in negotiating and executing contractual instruments on behalf of the company.
Experience and Qualifications
- Essential:
- Formal qualifications in a related discipline (Law, Accounting or Business Management).
- Advanced skills in complex contracting, commercial management, negotiation and procurement lifecycle;
- Strong planning and organizational skills;
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop contracting specialists;
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and management skills;
- Strong commercial acumen
- Excellent drafting skills
- Desirable
- Australian Defence industry experience;
- Knowledge of and experience working with the Australian Standard Defence Contracting Suite of Templates;
- Demonstrated experience in formulating innovative contractual and commercial acquisition and sustainment strategies for proposals
