The opportunity
We are seeking a talented Chief Security Officer (CSO) to lead, develop, and execute our organisational security strategy to protect BDA's people, assets, information, operations, and reputation.
As the Chief Security Officer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive security strategy that protects our people, assets, and information. You will lead a team of security professionals and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting our cybersecurity initiatives and overseeing leadership aspects of our information security efforts.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of Boeing Defence Australia's integrated security strategy, ensuring alignment with Global Security, enterprise policies, and Australian Government frameworks.
Risk Management: Advise senior leadership on security-related risks, threats, and incidents, while fostering a strong security culture through awareness and education initiatives.
Governance and Compliance: Ensure compliance with the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), and other relevant security directives, while managing regulatory relationships with government stakeholders.
Cybersecurity Collaboration: Collaborate with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to implement robust cyber defense mechanisms and oversee incident response and investigations.
Physical Security Oversight: Manage and enhance physical security across all BDA facilities, ensuring the protection of classified information and compliance with security accreditation requirements.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in cybersecurity and information security management, enabling you to nominally lead cyber initiatives and support the objectives of our Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and incident response strategies.
- Proven ability to integrate physical security and cybersecurity efforts to create a holistic security posture
Experience/Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in a senior leadership security role within the defence, aerospace, government, or critical infrastructure sectors.
- Australian Citizen with Negative Vetting Level 2 (NV2) or ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) clearance.
- Deep knowledge of Australian Government security frameworks (PSPF, DISP, ISM).
- Strong crisis management, risk assessment, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience working in or with a global defence prime contractor (preferred).
- Tertiary qualifications in Security Management, Risk Management, Cybersecurity, Defence Studies, or related fields (preferred).
Work Environment and Conditions
- Regular domestic and occasional international travel required.
- Participation in after-hours response and crisis management as necessary.
