Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Nondestructive Testing/Inspection (NDT) Technician (Associate/Experienced) to join our Quality Organization in the St. Louis area at our Berkeley, MO site.
Join our dynamic and supportive Quality team! In this role, you will conduct Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on aerospace products using cutting edge methods which may include ultrasonic (UT), eddy current (ET), radiographic (RT), magnetic particle (MT) and liquid penetrant (PT). You will work with digital and automated inspection systems in an aerospace environment aligned with industry standards and regulations. Employees will be required to obtain Boeing NDT certification and pass a vision exam. Failure to achieve or maintain certification requirements may lead to termination of employment.
Work Environment:
May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke (not over OSHA permissible exposure levels).
Some positions require the applicant to work in a radiation environment and involves exposure to radiation. Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of relevant safety and health regulations, protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe working atmosphere for self and others.
Safety training and equipment are provided by Boeing in accordance with applicable laws, industry standards, and company policies.
Will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) applicable to the testing method being used.
Able and willing to stand 90% of the time, stoop, bend, stretch, and engage in awkward positioning.
Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
Position Responsibilities:
Completes structured training programs to gain knowledge of NDT methods, including but not limited to UT, ET, RT, MT, PT.
Performs setup for specialized non-destructive test or measurement equipment to controlled standards.
Assists in the documentation of procedures for setting up test equipment.
Analyzes routine test, inspection or statistical data to determine product and processes conformity.
Assists with standard corrective action recommendations.
Documents and communicates standard test, analysis or measurement results.
Reports potential adverse trends or anomalous results.
Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for some of these positions.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Served at least 180 continuous days on active duty
Within 12 months of separation or retirement from the military
Able to start 180 days prior to separation or retirement from active duty
Active Secret Clearance or higher is required
High school diploma or equivalent
Formalized NDT Training and experience including an equivalent Level II Certification in a minimum of one or more of the following methods: UT, RT, MT, PT or ET
More than 1 year of experience working with tools or machinery from vocational courses, shop environments, or military experience
Experience with Microsoft Office Products like Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 3: More than 3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
More than 1 year of experience determining, applying, and performing arithmetic operations in order to solve complex math problems. This includes the ability to extract relevant information from tables, charts, graphs, text, spot relevant trends in data, and create and document models that can be used by others
Knowledge of aircraft or vehicle maintenance
Technical/Vocational education in a related field

Shift:

Summary pay range associate level (Level 2): USD $71,000 - $90,000
Summary pay range experienced level (Level 3): USD $84,000 - $106,000
