The Boeing Company is looking for a Metrology Test & Evaluation Engineer to join our team in Berkeley, MO. As a Metrology engineer you will have an important and exciting role in the company that could include engaging with the factory and other engineers, working with large-volume advanced manufacturing machines, engaging with outside vendors of test equipment, designing and building test fixtures, programming software, and developing procedures to test new equipment. You will tackle new and challenging problems every day.
Metrology is the science of measurement and includes all theoretical and practical aspects of measurement. Metrology engineering covers the basic understanding of how measurement accuracy and precision impacts our ability to make repeatable and reproducible measurements throughout Boeing, basic understanding of the importance of measurement traceability and the role calibration plays in establishing traceability, and the quality systems that support these processes.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Experienced and Senior Level Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops solutions to calibration systems problems of moderate scope and impact
Makes routine contacts with customers
Utilizes appropriate tools, processes and procedures
Assists with the design of calibration systems
Aids in the development of data processing tools and algorithms
Authors calibration procedures and conducts measurement uncertainty evaluations
Calibration data analysis. Conducts calibration data validity using established Metrology practices and procedures
Measurement uncertainty evaluation and equipment service interval analysis
Develops project plans using the principles of project management and performance goals
Gathers and analyzes requirements for measurement and test equipment calibration
Aids with the calibration and certification of tools and measurement and test equipment
Support maintenance of the calibration system
Supports maintenance of reference standards traceability, calibration procedures and software
Develops solutions to emergent requirements during day-to-day activities
Supports the development and verification of test methods
Develops detailed test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition, needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan
Designs test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements
Uses analytical tools to verify the design
Reviews test data, including off-nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer
Prepares and publishes test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements
Presents test results internally
Trains others
Works under general direction
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Experience in Metrology and/or measurement science
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Level 4: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
1+ years of experience working in the microwave/RF (Radio Frequency) field
1+ years of experience with network analyzers
3+ years’ experience in metrology or calibration/certification
3+ years’ experience in project management
3+ years' performing statistical analysis
3+ years’ experience developing procedures

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range for Associate level (Level 2): $79,900 – $108,000
Summary Pay Range for Mid-level (Level 3): $95,200 – $128,800
Summary Pay Range for Senior level (Level 4): $113,900 – $154,100
