Government Training Engineering (GTE) is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to serve as an Air Dominance Platform Principal Engineer, located at the Saint Louis, Missouri site. The selected candidate will join the Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE) within the Air Dominance Portfolio that includes F-15, F/A-18, F-22, T-7, MQ-25, T-45, and Proprietary programs and will be responsible for leading engineering execution of the BGS Government Training scope of work.
GTE is responsible for the proposal, development, integration, delivery, and sustainment of a wide range of world-class training solutions to train the next generation of pilots. This includes high fidelity flight simulator aircrew training devices, ground and maintenance devices, courseware, and associated services. Your role includes project management, technical leadership and a strong desire to get the job done. You will be collaborating with the engineering teams and program management to maintain a common vision and deliver winning products.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide technical, business, and integration leadership to engineering projects
- Manage scope and any changes to project baselines
- Support proposal development and lead engineering execution by identifying activities, resources, and tasks required to complete the work statement
- Develop and manage Statements of Work (SOWs) and Supplier Statements of Work (SSOWs)
- Define plans for risk mitigation and opportunity
- Maintain Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics and manage project performance to plan
- Define high-level features based on business stakeholder priorities and architectural changes recommended by engineering
- Manage product release schedules and release activities
- Assure the development team’s products effectively address program priorities while maintaining technical integrity and cost and schedule targets
- Advocate, recommend, & champion process improvements and corrective actions to address lessons learned
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 9+ years of experience in Engineering, Project Management, or a similar role.
- 3+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal role
- 5+ years of experience with project management in an engineering environment
- Experience developing and tracking program plans/schedules and budgets for technical projects
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal role
- 7+ years of experience in engineering project management
- Experience with Training Systems and/or Boeing military aircraft platforms
- Experience developing technical proposal responses and estimates
- Cost account management and/or earned value management experience
- Experience working within a SAFe Agile team
Security Clearance:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Relocation:

Travel:
Occasional travel (up to 10%) may be required in support of the program and customer.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $114,750 - $155,250
