Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Engineering Technical Specialist to support the Phantom Works team in Berkeley, MO.
We are seeking a motivated Engineering Technical Specialist to join a dynamic Mission Systems team supporting a new platform development in Phantom Works. This role blends program coordination, Agile process improvement, secure data/document stewardship, and technical support (e.g. modeling transfers, metrics). The role requires strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and the ability to work across organizational boundaries with engineering, software, integration & test, and supply chain stakeholders.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Experienced Level Engineering Technical Specialist.
Position Responsibilities
- Contributes to continuous process improvement initiatives in an Agile development environment; implement changes, and measure outcomes using Jira/Confluence.
- Own weekly program execution metrics and dashboards (e.g., sprint velocity, planned vs. completed, top risks); automate data collection and present trends to leadership.
- Responsible for secure data transfers for closed-area programs
- Track risks, issues, and opportunities in BORIS (Boeing Opportunities, Risks, Issues, and Status); coordinate mitigations across engineering, supply chain, and software teams.
- Support staffing and adaptive planning: interview coordination, candidate tracking, onboarding logistics, and team workspace planning.
- Maintain and administer team collaboration platforms (file share, Confluence, Jira); enforce documentation standards and reduce information friction.
- Coordinate with supply chain and vendors on requirements, skills needs, and performance/cost tracking.
- Support team meetings, status reporting, and other program administrative activities as needed.
- Works under close supervision.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP)clearance
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1+ years’ experience in a role utilizing strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills, demonstrated ability to work cross functionally and to drive follow through
- 1+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint); comfortable producing briefings and dashboards for management
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- Bachelor’s degree and 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Active Secret security clearance or higher
- Experience supporting engineering teams on platform or mission systems programs
- Experience creating engineering metrics, automating dashboards, and presenting recommendations to leadership
- Jira administration or Confluence space management experience; advanced Excel or Palantir Foundry is a plus
Typical Education & Experience
Associate (Level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+1 years' related work experience, 7 years' related work experience, etc.).
Experienced (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range (Associate, Level 2): $71,400 – $96,600
Summary pay range (Experienced, Level 3): $84,150 – $113,850
