Boeing Test and Evaluation is searching for an experienced fighter pilot to take the role of an Air Dominance Lead Technical Pilot for an Air Dominance/Phantom Works program located in St. Louis, MO.

In this role, you will work alongside a high-performing, cross-functional team focused on developing next-generation, state-of-the-art capabilities for Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) programs, including Air Dominance and Phantom Works.

 

The primary responsibility of the selected candidate will be to support advanced aircraft and systems development and certification efforts, and to provide flight operations, safety and technical support to Boeing stakeholders at multiple levels. This involves integrating into multidisciplinary teams aimed at addressing warfighter needs by applying human engineering principles and leveraging best practices operating tactical aircraft. As lead Technical Pilot, you will develop and approve new or existing procedures and provide information and specialized technical services to stakeholder pilots, enhancing warfighting capabilities.

 

You will also contribute to planning and execution of assessments of pilot-vehicle-interface design for experimental, prototype, and production aircraft.  The lead Technical Pilot collaborates in development and coordination of test plans, procedures, and techniques to achieve qualification or certification, while meeting test plan objectives. The lead Technical Pilot recommends operational techniques for systems and design enhancements.

 

Other responsibilities of the lead Technical Pilot include researching, editing, documenting, and coordinating publication of tactics, techniques, and procedures for operating Boeing aircraft.  You will represent Boeing as a technical lead when engaging in external/internal forums and collaborations, as well as advise, coach and mentor other Technical Pilots.

 

As lead Technical Pilot you will meet with regulatory agencies at the executive level and serve as a consultant to senior management and other industry professionals.  Additionally, you will support business development by discussing and demonstrating aircraft and new flight technology.  As lead Technical Pilot you will consult with cross-functional teams during accident investigations and analysis.

 

Job requires test or development experience of 5th or 6th generation tactical aircraft, and FAA ATP or Commercial certificate with the appropriate endorsements. 

 

This is not an active flying position.

  

Position Responsibilities Include:

• Supports engineering of advanced aircraft and systems
• Supports planning and execution of engineering and experimental test events
•  Provides flight operations, safety, and technical support
• Recommends operational techniques for systems and design enhancements
• Researches, edits, documents, and coordinates publication of tactics, techniques, and procedures for operating Boeing aircraft
• Coordinates with engineering, manufacturing and airworthiness personnel on certification efforts to ensure design integrity 

 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• Commercial Certificate or FAA ATP with appropriate endorsements or military equivalent
• Ability to obtain a FAA Second Class Medical certificate
• 1,000 flight hours as Pilot in Command of turbine powered jet aircraft
• 5th Generation Fighter aircraft or 6th Generation Fighter development experience

 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Master’s Degree or higher in Engineering
• US DOW Weapons Instructor Course (WIC) Graduate
• Test Pilot School (TPS) Graduate

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay Range: $226,100 - 305, 900
