Position Overview:
- Boeing Talent Acquisition is currently looking to hire Lead Software Engineer - Flight Management system – Development, Verification and Validation for Boeing India Software Engineering (BISE) to join their team in Bengaluru, India. Develop, maintain, and integrate software components into fully functional systems. Involve and contribute in development, integration, and testing of software systems on embedded hardware. Provides technical leadership for software projects and supports software supplier management activities. Supports development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics. Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects. Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards. Works under minimal direction.
Position Responsibilities:
- Strong experience in Flight Management Systems development with exposure or working experience on multiple flight/avionics onboard and offboard software. Serves as a subject matter expert for flight management system and not limited to embedded software application development
- Analyze, implement and resolve complex system issues while guiding and mentoring the team. Actively involve in SLDC process, guide the team, prepare and participate in external and internal audits.
- Develop, maintain, and integrate software components into fully functional systems. Involve and contribute in development, integration, and testing of software systems on embedded hardware.
- Able to architect complex system using embedded and system programming languages, develop design artifacts, suggest enhancements and adopt appropriate technologies in development lifecycle
- Design and Develop SW architecture, software plans and project artifacts and maintain throughout the SW lifecycle.
- Develops software verification plans, test procedures, and test environments. Executes test procedures and documents results to ensure software system requirements are met.
- Leads activities to develop, document, and maintain architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems. Provides technical leadership for software projects and manages software supplier activities.
- Coordinate and work with cross-functional teams like hardware, system and process to resolve dependencies and bring synergy working towards a common goal.
- Plans, executes, and documents, software research and development projects. Works under general to minimal direction.

Basic Qualification:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is required, with 12+ years of relevant work experience.
- Programming Skills: Solid programming knowledge in C/C++ and Python; experience with Linux or Unix is desirable. Experience in model based development is an added advantage.
- Real-Time Operating Systems: Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and knowledge of real-time software domains, including control systems and signal processing.
- Software Development: Experience in writing and developing software requirements with minimal existing requirements; familiarity with DO-178C.
- Flight Management Systems: Strong experience in Flight Management Systems (FMS), including simulating scenarios and guiding the team on complex issues.
- Technical Leadership: Ability to guide teams in resolving technical issues, proactively communicate with stakeholders, and take action to find solutions.
- General Knowledge of Aircraft Systems: Understanding of aircraft systems (e.g., avionics, hydraulic, electrical) and components (e.g., multifunction displays, landing gear).
- Real-Time Software Knowledge: Knowledge of real-time target environments, including processor and network architectures, communication protocols, and simulation frameworks.
- Tools and Technologies: Experience with development tools such Visual Studio, Code, Eclipse and other vendor standard IDE and tools such as LDRA, Polyspace, GIT, and Atlassian tools.
- Collaboration and Relationship Building: Must work collaboratively with multi-functional teams and develop relationships with customers and partners.
- Self-Starter and Positive Attitude: Candidate must be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and the ability to work successfully under pressure.
- Flexibility and Cultural Awareness: Must be flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and the ability to work across different cultures and time zones.
- Mentorship and Team Leadership: Experience in leading teams and mentoring junior members to achieve project and departmental goals.
