Position Overview:
The Boeing Technology Innovation team, which is the research and technology development group in BIETC, has an immediate opening for a Communication & Network Systems Engineer. We are seeking an engineer with expertise in communication networks and software programming to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of communication technologies that would be used in aircraft systems.
The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of network communication principles, strong analytical skills, and know how to build efficient and scalable solutions using software programming. We are looking for a candidate with an advanced degree in Computer Science or related discipline, 2 to 4 years of experience in developing and implementing network protocols using the latest techniques and software development methods.
The selected individual will document results of research and development projects and provide inputs for periodic updates to management in the form of progress reports, project summaries, and other related documents. The selected individual will develop and maintain relationships / partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners to develop collaborative plans and execute on projects.
This position will be based out of Bangalore, India and will work with other colleagues located in India, United States and other global locations. This position may require occasional (10%) travel within India and internationally.
Position Responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth research on existing and emerging network protocols and architecture, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field.
Design and implement communication network architectures from the ground up
Apply network and cyber security principles: secure coding, threat mitigation, encryption, and authentication.
Write embedded code (C, C++, Java, etc.) and simulate as well as emulate embedded systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, system architects, and quality assurance to ensure seamless integration into larger systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to network protocols and communication.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, design documents, and usage guides.
Stay informed about industry trends and contribute innovative ideas to drive the evolution of network protocols and technologies within the company.

Basic Qualification:
Bachelors OR Masters in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical engineering or related discipline.
2-4 years of overall work experience in
developing communication protocols
designing and implementing communication network architectures
C programming, with a strong understanding of memory management, data structures, and algorithms
Excellent presentation & communication skills: strong written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills. Fluency in written and spoken English, and familiar with MS Office tools.
Preferred Qualifications: (Desired Skills/Experience)
Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, HTTPS, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP) is essential. Familiarity with networking technologies like DPDK, VPNs, NAT and Quality of Service (QoS) is important.
Understanding of network & cyber security: secure protocol design, encryption, authentication, threat modeling.
Ability to analyze network performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and optimize network configurations for better performance and scalability.
Experience with software development tools, version control systems, and debugging techniques.
Published research papers, open-source contributions, or patents related to networking and protocols are a plus.
Working exposure with Agile (Scrum) and DevOps is a must
Be self-motivated and able to work independently with a positive attitude and high ethics.
