Boeing Defence Australia's Sustainment Operations Business is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the Air Combat Electronic Attack (ACEA) Sustainment Program Change Team. The Change team provides baseline and project management services for the Sustainment Program including capability upgrades and new weapon systems increasing the survivability and lethality of the Royal Australian Air Force's F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler fleet.
This position will coordinate with other Senior Project Managers, ACEASPO, 82WG, Air Combat Group, to identify and develop operational evaluation opportunities within the ACEA Enterprise to ensure capability delivery. The PM will direct all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion; monthly and routine reporting is required in accordance with the developed project management plan.

This role is based at RAAF Base Amberley.
As a Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for the following:
- Coordinate with multiple project managers in the delivery of capability while coordinating within the ACEA Enterprise to identify and develop opportunities for operational evaluation of new capabilities.
- Lead and collaborate with geographically dispersed, multi-disciplined teams for planning and execution of complex capability upgrade projects and work packages to successful and timely completion.
- Lead and direct all phases of assigned projects, both executing and emerging, across the program portfolio.
- Identify and manage Risk, Issues and Opportunities for assigned projects including proactive escalation and resolution of "Help needed".
- Lead regular review meetings with senior stakeholders to demonstrate project progress.
- Lead and contribute to reviews and meetings to seek improvements to project management processes and business systems.
- Proactively engage with project stakeholders including Customers and Business Leaders to deliver results.
About you
You are a dynamic leader who will bring technical skills, effective communication and relationship building strengths to support our Sustainment Program. You are someone who is comfortable working autonomously and as part of a wider community to seek and drive continuous improvement.
Experience and Qualifications
- Understanding of Super Hornet and Growler operations, integration of capability upgrades, operational evaluation events and how to coordinate across the ACEA Enterprise to achieve desired end state.
- Extensive experience in managing complex projects to successful completion.
- Strong understanding of Defence aviation regulations, Configuration Management and sustainment requirements.
- Formal Project Management, Engineering, Business or Management qualifications is desired, however, prior experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated proficiency in all project management areas in accordance with accepted industry project management standards.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to exert influence at multiple organisational levels.
- High level communication and negotiation skills with a strong focus on building successful relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Drive and passion to grow capability, mentor and coach other PM professionals.
