About the opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Quality System Specialist, to support the AH-64E Apache helicopter. The AH-64E Boeing Apache helicopter has been selected for the Australian Army and is coming into service, joining our current Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) supported rotary wing fleet of Chinook medium lift helicopters. BDA supports these inspiring programs with Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, Quality, System Safety and Management skills. BDA is looking for personnel to support this exciting opportunity.
This position will be based at RAAF Base Townsville, QLD.
As a skilled Quality System Specialist, you will apply your knowledge and experience to provide the following services as an integral team member to the Apache fleet:
- Assist the Technical Airworthiness Compliance Manager (TACM) in the completion of quality system responsibilities
- Conduct technical safety investigations in support of the Military Aviation Safety Officer as required
- Provide information/advice regarding changes to regulatory publications to key stakeholders
- Assist in development, maintenance, and the recommendation of improvements to Standing Instructions
- Perform the role of internal auditor within the Maintenance Organisation and ensure the audit program aligns with the audit schedule and is amended as appropriate or as directed by the TACM
- Act as Desk Officer for the Maintenance Organisation, providing direct assistance and support as required
- Assist in the management and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) IAW quality management policies and manuals
- Assist the TACM in providing an interface between the wider enterprise for QMS and Aviation Maintenance Standards related issues
- Assist the TACM with the conduct & follow up of QMS review meetings
- Assist in development, maintenance, control, publishing and administration of Special Logistics Instruction (SLI) and the SLI Register
- Act as a Quality System facilitator for the maintenance elements under guidance from the unit TACM
- Ensure Process, Product Sampling and End State Audits are completed on time and follow-up actions are instigated and completed
- Maintain Quality System Records
- Ensure compliance with periodic tasks in accordance with relevant Orders, Instructions and Publications
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in aviation safety or quality management and/or safety or quality management in an aviation related organisation.
- Internal Auditor Course Qualification.
- Lead Auditor Course Qualifications / Experience.
- Experience with DASR Part 145, Part M and QMS accreditations ISO 9001 and AS9110.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies ie: LEAN, 6 Sigma (Desirable).
- Strong stakeholder relations and an ability to influence change at all levels of the organisation.
