Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for Industrial Engineer – Team Lead to join the Aerospace Composite Center (ACC) located in Hazelwood, MO!
At Boeing, our Industrial Engineers are leaders in innovation, development, evaluation, and implementation of methods and systems in support of complex manufacturing processes.
This position will have the unique opportunity to support multiple programs as the IE site focal, provide mentorship and training to team mates as well as providing hands-on support to production processes, including SNOP charts and production systems setup.
Preferred candidates will have experience supporting the implementation and standing up of programs with a background in aerospace and/or composites manufacturing. Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering or Engineering Management
Position Responsibilities:
Leads the development and application of advanced industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements.
Consults on the development of complex plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and work flows.
Recommends new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations.
Designs, maintains, and optimizes the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel.
Establishes standards for work flow design and analysis.
Develops models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics to solve complex problems and provide consultation to senior leadership and customers.
Directs research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of complex processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.
Consults on plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods.
Evaluates product assembly instructions and standardizes assembly practices.
Oversees operations planning, includes work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met.
Manages execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling and shop load practices.
Consults on production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility and recovery planning support for a program.
Initiates compliance actions to align to established industry safety, design standards and ergonomic guidelines.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
5+ years of experience using lean principles
5+ years of experience collecting data from multiple sources, performing analysis and presenting data
3+ years of experience managing projects and/or teams
Experience developing and deploying standards and standard processes
Experience developing metrics and using metrics to drive results and improve the business
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing and maintaining integrated, resource-loaded project plans to describe and manage subject statement of work project content, sequencing, timing / duration, and dependencies.
Experience supporting aerospace manufacturing operations in an industrial engineering lead role utilizing industrial engineering methods, process, and tools.
3+ years of experience working in Aerospace manufacturing
3+ years of experience working with composites manufacturing
Experience standing up new programs

Summary pay range: USD $127,500-$142,500
