Directs and initiates complex analysis and evaluation of parts, materials, processes, technology or equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability and adherence to requirements and specifications. Leads and directs analysis of failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures. Leads and directs efforts to generate test plans, identify and categorize failure, determine root cause and document results and recommendations. Leads the proposal, development and validation of revisions to procedures and specifications. Directs the design, development, fabrication, testing, evaluation and implementation of new concepts and technology to resolve complex problems and support continuous improvement. Consults with others to resolve complex or high-impact issues with suppliers and customers. Provides direction, consultation and technical expertise to internal and external customers. Coaches and mentors’ others.
Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is seeking a motivated & Senior M&P (Materials & Processes) Technical Analyst to join the Legendary Phantom Works team.
This position will be integrated with our NDE (Nondestructive Evaluation) Engineering team supporting The Legendary Phantom Works. They will be responsible for supporting lifecycle NDE processes with a focus on Supply Chain NDE. The successful candidate will be comfortable with auditing NDT facilities, qualifying NDT equipment, review and approval of supplier techniques and procedures, and participating in the Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) Process.
Position Responsibilities:
- Works independently with the direction/mentorship of Principal/Senior Nondestructive Evaluation engineers to certify, qualify, approve and implement Nondestructive Evaluation technologies across Phantom Works Supply Chain
- Mentor early career engineers in the development, certification, qualification, and implementation of Nondestructive Evaluation technology across the enterprise
- Author / Revise specifications for use on Boeing Phantom Works programs
- Review Scan Plans and interpret Computed Tomography, Ultrasonic, and Radiography Data
- Review and approve supplier procedures / techniques for various NDT Methods
- Develop Statement of Works and Procurement specifications for new inspection systems to support Boeing Phantom Works Programs
- Mature new capabilities for incorporation into production or supply base
- Training of junior level employees
- Adhere to strict safety protocols
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+7 years' related work experience, 11 years' related work experience, etc.) (Level 5)
- Certifiable to NAS410 Level 3 in a minimum of 4 Methods (PT, RT, MT, UT, ET, IR, ST) or Currently holds ASNT Level 3 Certification in a minimum of 3 Methods (PT, RT, MT, UT, ET, IR, ST)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- AA Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Computer, Chemical, Aerospace, Material Science, Materials Engineering or Computer Science, Chemistry, or Physics.
- 10+ years of NDT Experience
Typical Education/Experience:
Expert (Level 5)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+7 years' related work experience, 11 years' related work experience, etc.)

Summary pay range-Level 5:
Tier 1- $91,800-$124,200
Tier 2- $85,850-$116,150
